Howard Campbell hails from Nashville, TN, where he attended Vanderbilt University, graduating with a BE in Chemical Engineering. His engineering and consulting career in oil, petrochemicals and general business took him to Texas, California and subsequently to Saudi Arabia, where he met and married his wife, Elaine. Howard says “she was a darling Sydney bird, nursing there on her way home from Walkabout – a journey which only took her another 31 years to complete.”

Nine years ago the Campbells moved to Australia to be close to Elaine's then aging parents who had relocated to the Gold Coast. They have since been joined by their US-educated daughter and American son-in-law, and two grandkids, who unfortunately, now reside in Melbourne. They also have a son living in Dubai, thus maintaining their Middle East connections. During his time in Saudi, Howard served in several community service roles, including extensive involvement in local and regional AmCham activities, which he says was highlighted by leading large doorknock delegations to Washington DC. He also served for several years on the Board of Trustees for a substantial expatriate school system and assisted with various expatriate youth programs. He lists computers, reading and following sports as his hobbies.
